Intimate Fall Wedding In Stony Plain

This is your sign to get married in the fall

Intimate fall weddings truly have my heart and I swear it’s not just because I’m a Libra. The fall colours are beautiful and can put that extra sparkle to your wedding portraits. Having your wedding in the fall typically means the temperature will be perfect, you don’t have to be dripping in sweat in your wedding attire and I’m HERE FOR THAT!

This local Edmonton couple is having a big celebration in Mexico in the coming months but decided to have a small intimate legal ceremony at the Stony Plain town hall beforehand and as an Edmonton Alberta wedding photographer, this is something I highly suggest if you plan on having a destination wedding. If you decide to have a destination wedding, depending on the exact destination, there can be lots of hoops to jump through to actually get legally married in a country that is not your own. Getting legally married in your home country then having a celebration elsewhere is always the easiest and best way to go to avoid any mistakes or just simply avoid the headache of all the extra steps you’d have to take.

This intimate fall wedding

started in the small town of Stony Plain Alberta at town hall. This Edmonton couple decided to only have their closest friends and family present while they legally tied the knot during their intimate wedding ceremony on the front lawn. Having your wedding in a small town at town hall, means you might just have the mayor show up and that’s exactly what happened. Mayor Choy of Stony Plain Alberta came down to give the couple his best wishes and a few small gifts for the family which was absolutely amazing.

Their wedding ceremony was short and sweet, exactly how I like it as an Edmonton wedding photographer. Immediately following the ceremony, all their family and friends had the chance to sign their guest canvas, have some drinks and snacks and just visit. One of my favorite things about small intimate weddings is the couple ACTUALLY has time to visit with all of their guests and can do so without running around like a chicken with their head cut off all night. The more I get to photograph intimate weddings, the more I fall in love with them and as an Edmonton Alberta wedding photographer, they are becoming my favorite kind of wedding to photograph.

Ceremony

Bridal portraits

This couple had me booked for three hours on their wedding day and typically i tell my clients they can expect anywhere between 30 to 50 images per hour to be delivered via online gallery 8-12 weeks after their wedding day. Well, I’m a huge liar because almost every single time without fail, I deliver almost double that, which I always say “it’s better to underpromise and overdeliver than overpromise and underdeliver” So this Edmonton couple ended up with 361 photos in their final wedding day gallery.

Since their intimate wedding ceremony at Stony Plain town hall was fairly short, we had lots of time to explore the rest of Stony Plain for their bridal portraits. Before every wedding i photograph, I do extensive location scouting for the absolute perfect location for your wedding photos. Being a local Stony Plain wedding photographer and wanting to keep it close by, I knew exactly where to go. First we stopped at St. Matthew’s Lutheran church because this building is absolutely stunning and gave castle in Europe kind of vibes. Then we went over to Heritage Park in Stony Plain to finish off their bridal portraits in the cutest little nook and the fall colours here were absolutely phenomenal.

see for yourself…

and that was that

like i said, this couple only needed 3 hours of wedding photography coverage for their small intimate wedding at town hall in Stony Plain. We fit in their short ceremony, lots of visiting time, family portraits and 2 locations of bridal portraits. Huge congratulations to this Edmonton wedding couple and I can’t wait to see their amazing destination wedding coming up this spring!
