Meet Your Edmonton Boudoir Photographer

Hi friendss!

If you’re new here, hi, I’m Taylor, I’m a luxury boudoir photographer from Edmonton Alberta and I’m so freaking glad you’re here! In this blog I’m going to tell you a little bit about myself, why I got started in boudoir photography and share my latest boudoir self portrait gallery! Which by the way, was shot when I was 5 weeks pregnant, but we’ll get into that…

about me

My name is Taylor but lots of people end up calling me Tay because of my business name, but whatever works for you, is good with me!! I’ve been photographing weddings and boudoir photography since 2020, which makes that 5 years in business as a wedding and boudoir photographer as I’m writing this. Which feels crazy and I truly didn’t realize it until renewing my business license earlier this year and it says “created in 2020”

When I started my photography business, I had no idea where it was going to take me. What started as a fun side hustle, turned into a full blow career 5 years later and I couldn’t imagine myself doing anything else.

My boudoir photography studio is located in Edmonton Alberta but I currently live in Spruce Grove with my husband, our two dogs and our first baby will be arriving July 2025.

As a boudoir photographer, I’m a firm believer that every version of you deserves to be documented so like mentioned above, this self portrait session you are seeing here was done at 5 weeks pregnant. I knew big changes were about to come to not just my body but our whole lives so this boudoir session is a reminder of that.

I think it’s so important to know and trust the person who you chose to capture your boudoir experience so here are just a few facts about me:

  • I LOVE all things coffee. I make at least 1 cup every single morning and a few times a week, we make one together on my instagram stories. This also created an obsession with collecting all different kinds of coffee mugs.

  • I enjoy lots of different styles of music but house music, dubstep and basically all EDM has my heart. Unfortunately the one kind you won’t catch me listening to is country but during your boudoir session we play whatever YOU want!

  • Your girl can EAT! I’m a huge foodie and there’s not many foods I won’t eat, I’m the least picky person on the planet but one thing I cannot stand, which always surprises people … peanut butter or anything peanut butter flavoured. I’m so sorry to all the peanut butter lovers out there but this is the ONE food item I truly hate.

my journey

I started this journey when I was working full time at a coffee shop in Spruce Grove and although I did love it and loved interacting with my regular customers, something in me was yearning for more; I wasn’t feeling 100% fulfilled in what I was doing. So that’s when I picked up my camera again.

You see, I’ve always loved photography, I took classes through high school, always had a DSLR on me but it hit the back burner for a long time; that is until that little voice in my head was telling me to strive for something bigger. So in 2019 I started practicing photography and taking in as much info as I possibly could before officially launching my photography business in 2020.

It was very early on I realized that this could be a career for me so I went from being self taught the first year of my photography business to jumping into postsecondary schooling and I ended up in the photographic technology course here at NAIT in Edmonton Alberta. It was a two year photography program and I was so nervous to be starting something new, but being a very kinesthetic learner, I knew that that extra guidance from real professors in a classroom setting could take me to the next level. Funny thing wanting to start school in the midst of a global pandemic but we did it. I started in 2020 with a class of 24 students and graduated in 2022 with only 9 of us left. Ending with only 9 classmates out of 24 was the dead giveaway that running a photography business is not as easy as it may seem.

Ever since I graduated from NAIT in 2022, I’ve been your full time wedding and boudoir photographer, officially leaving the barista life behind.

But my education didn’t stop there. I try to take multiple course or mentorships every year to stay sharp and refine my photography skills even more and ensure I’m giving all my photography clients, not just the best photos possible, but the best client experience possible as well.

My why

I dive deeper into this on another blog if you filter through some older boudoir photography blogs but let’s get into it.

When running a photography business, you need to have a passion for it, you need to have something that drives you, it’s not just an easy money grab like people might think and my biggest why when it comes to why I do what I do, is simple… it’s YOU.

My whole life i’ve just wanted to make people happy and feel comfortable in spaces that might feel a little uncomfortable, which can be in front of a camera for a lot of people, especially for a boudoir photography session. 90% of the women you see in my boudoir photography portfolio have never had a boudoir session or even stepped in front of a camera before so it’s my responsibility as your Edmonton boudoir photographer to create a safe and comfortable space for you to step into.

Creating comfortability within each of my boudoir clients doesn’t just start during your session. It starts in the way I present myself, like mentioned above, I hop on my instagram stories to make coffee with you in the morning and chat about what’s going on in my life. When women tell me they felt like the knew me before booking their boudoir session because of this, It warms my heart so much and solidifies my reason for doing it. Boudoir photography sessions can be a very nerve racking experience, I get that, so when you feel like you know and trust someone first, it makes it that much easier to finally say HECK YES!

No matter what I’m shooting, whether that’s a couple on their wedding day or an intimate boudoir photography session, your comfort will always be my biggest priority. If there’s one thing I want to accomplish with my photography it’s I just simply want to make people FEEL GOOD. That’s really it.

If you’re still here

My appreciation for you is truly endless. I would not be where I am today without your support and whether that be as simple as reading this blog, liking, commenting and sharing my work on instagram or as big as booking a boudoir session for yourself, every little bit matters. YOU MATTER and your helping support just a local Edmonton girl and her growing family. I freaking love you guys so much and I don’t think and simple thank you will ever be enough but… THANK YOU!!!

Now let’s get into the boudoir gallery
