Get To Know Your Edmonton Boudoir Photographer

Hi friendss

I’m Taylor, a boudoir photographer from Edmonton Alberta and I figured it was time we get to know each other on a little bit deeper level. If you follow me on instagram (@taysboudiebabes) you probably know me best from watching daily coffee chats on my story in the morning, always sporting a fluffy purple house coat or sharing my absolute love and passion for boudoir photography.

I’ve been learning and perfecting the art of boudoir photography for the last 4 years and just last week celebrated the biggest win and opened up my very own boudoir studio here in Edmonton Alberta. Having my own boudoir studio has been my biggest dream since starting my business back in late 2019 and I truly can’t thank everyone enough who has supported me along the way, without you, I wouldn’t be here right now so…

Thank you Thank you Thank you!

How it started

I’ve always loved photography. I took comm tech class all throughout high school, which was very photography and digital design related and this is where I learned lots of fundamental tools and gained a true passion for photography. I bought my first camera at 15 years old in 2011 and started taking photos of EVERYTHING. I brought my camera on vacations, birthday parties, took photos of family etc. (you know, how literally everyone starts out?)

Although I always loved photography and thought it was fun, I never could have imagined it could be a career until about 5 years out of highschool (2019). I was working as a manager at a coffee shop and although i did truly love my job, something in me felt unfulfilled, something felt like i could be doing more.

I started to think about how photography could be more than just a fun hobby. I started following some photographers on instagram and made a facebook / instagram page. I picked up my canon rebel t3i and started telling friends and family that I was starting photography. At this point the concept of professional boudoir photography was still so far out in space, I hadn’t reached it yet, but the way I was bringing people a new found confidence by just being in front of my camera, was truly the most addicting part.

How its going

About 1 year into this crazy decision to start a photography business here in Edmonton Alberta, I had an even crazier idea, to step down as manager from my day job and go to post secondary school to further my knowledge and skills as a professional photographer. I, on a whim, on a night in August, decided to apply for the fall semester of the photographic technology program at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology aka NAIT. I had absolutely no expectation of getting in since I was applying so late to a basically full program but the universe was on my side and I got it.

Going through this two year program absolutely catapulted my business. I truly believe i learned and excelled in this program 10x more than I ever could have on my own as a self taught photographer. Education as a photographer is so important because this is an industry that is always evolving, there’s always something new you can learn and there’s always a way you can improve your client experience and that’s just why I love it so much.

4 years later

here we are, helping everyday women just like you, feel confident and empowered through the art of boudoir photography. I’m so grateful to be able to live a life where my job is to help people simply just feel good again. The power of a photograph is so strong and if you think you don’t deserve an experience like this, trust me, you do. Whether you’re celebrating a milestone or nothing at all, a luxury boudoir session is the perfect gift to yourself after a long and hard 2023!

I can’t wait to see what 2024 holds and my Edmonton boudoir photography studio will always be a safe place for you to express and explore yourself on a deeper more intimate level.

Here are some fun facts about me and then a gallery of self portraits I’ve captured over the years!

  • I’m a 27 year old boudoir photographer from Edmonton Alberta

  • I have two dogs, Jaxx and Chevy. Both are pitbull breeds of some kind but still unknown 100%

  • Green is my favourite colour but my wardrobe consists of grey and black everything lol

  • My fiance Will is my biggest supporter and we are getting married in September 2024

  • I’m chatting almost every single morning while making coffee on my instagram stories so head over there if you want to connect even more

  • I LOVE a good spicy caesar but it better come with a bean, pickle or asparagus (celery would suffice but isn’t top notch caesar garnish)

  • EDM music runs through my veins but have recently fallen so in love with Noah Kahan (who hasn’t? amiright)

  • I tend to be very shy in social situations…. until i know you then it’s game on ;)
